Purchasing Coordinator

Location: Busan, South Gyeongsang, Korea, Republic Of

Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases is a leading provider of cryogenic pumps, fueling stations, heat exchangers, process systems, turboexpanders, services, and solutions for the LNG and industrial gases industry. We are a subsidiary of Nikkiso Company Ltd, a leading industrial manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, with over $1.5 B in annual revenue, 8000 + employees worldwide, and publicly traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Our Nikkiso Fueling & Solutions Division, based in Escondido, CA is seeking an early career Buyer who will also serve as support to document control, shipping, and receiving, at our location in Busan, Korea facility.

Position Summary:

The Buyer is a member of the Procurement team and is responsible for supporting the supply chain management system. Negotiation, communication, data analysis, MRO buying, and expediting skills are required.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for MROs buying, commercial off the shelves items and creating outside process PO
  • Creates Request for Quote (RFQ) packages
  • Negotiates price and delivery schedules with vendors
  • Work on projects and keeps track of critical orders to make sure they are on time from vendors
  • Work closely with Planning team to make sure parts are brought in to meet production requirements
  • Ensure all documents requested from vendors are received and filed accordingly
  • Assist with shipping & receiving and other administrative duties as assigned

Experience and Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Bachelor’s or Associates Degree preferred (but not required).
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be accepted
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar position preferred

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:

  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Skilled in computer technology and the use of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.)
  • Skilled in the operation of standard office machines including printer, scanner, and fax
  • Industry knowledge or a willingness to learn
  • Team Player
  • English language proficiency is required

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment within an industrial manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, filing cabinets, etc., as well as exposure to small to large scale manufacturing equipment within the facility.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Must be able to lift 25 lbs at times as well as be seated at a desk for prolonged periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
