Project Engineer

Location: Busan, South Gyeongsang, Korea, Republic Of

Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases is a leading provider of cryogenic pumps, fueling solutions, heat exchangers, process systems, turboexpanders, services, and solutions for the LNG and industrial gases industry. We are a subsidiary of Nikkiso Company Ltd, a leading industrial manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, with over $1.5 B in annual revenue, 8000 + employees worldwide, and publicly traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Our Nikkiso Fueling & Solutions Division, which is based in Escondido, CA is seeking an accountable Project Engineer to be responsible for project execution and be based in our Busan, Korea facility.

Position Summary:

We are currently looking for an accountable Project Engineer to be responsible for project execution. This position, under the direction of Nikkiso Fueling & Solutions Vice President of Global Production, and with other members of the Senior Management Team, will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical and manufacturing activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

Essential Functions:

  • Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
  • Direct communication with the customer for the assigned projects.
  • Develops project objectives (budget and schedule) by reviewing project proposals and plans and consulting with Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reporting schedule performance for project tasks.
  • Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions.
  • Controls project costs by reviewing cost implications.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and recommending actions.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains project database; entering and backing up data. Excel & Access expertise a plus.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering is preferred.
  • 5Years of experience in Engineer, project management is required.

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:

  • Exposure to cryogenic or natural gas industry is highly desired.
  • Good communication skills, proven discipline to carry out assigned tasks with little supervision and proven Team Player.
  • Advance skills in MS Office and Project suites are required.
  • Experience with large manufacturing sites or construction facilities is preferred.
  • Time management and Organization skills.
  • Computer skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, MRP/ERP software, Project Management software.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, work independently be detail-oriented and through.
  • English language proficiency is required.

Work Environment

This job operates in both a professional office and an industrial manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, filing cabinets, etc… as well as exposure to small to large scale manufacturing equipment within the facility. The role will not be expected to operate manufacturing machinery.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Must be able to lift 25 lbs at times as well as be seated at a desk for prolonged periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
