EHS Specialist II

Location: Murrieta, CA, United States

Nikkiso Cryoquip is a leading manufacturer of heat exchangers, liquefiers, and vaporizers for the LNG and industrial gases industry. Applications include fueling stations, marine engines, peak shaving, power generation, virtual pipelines, and well stimulation.

Summary

The EHS specialist position participates in and leads initiatives to provide for the safety, health, and environmental requirements of the employees. The position ensures all employees are trained in safety components relating to their position. The specialist reports to the EHS Manager and works to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for all employees, equipment, and operations. The role reduces workers compensation exposure through accident investigation and proactive accident reduction techniques.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  1. Implements safety and accident prevention policies in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  2. Evaluates workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
  3. Conducts safety training and demonstrates the use of safety equipment.
  4. Investigates accidents to identify cause and determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
  5. Serve in an advisory capacity to management and liaison with OSHA inspections and correspondence or with other department/entities (internal or external) as required.
  6. Represents the company in community and industry safety groups, programs, and conferences.
  7. Keeps abreast of current developments of training, safety, and accident prevention programs.
  8. Maintains records and assembling reports on lost time accidents.
  9. Implements hazardous material control.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse environment. This role routinely utilizes the operation of material handling equipment and various tools and machinery.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and work with various materials and/or tools, as well as work and bend at different heights, in various temperatures, and be on feet for an extended period of time.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of equivalent education/safety experience.

Travel

Domestic travel may be required.

Annual Salary
