Electrical Construction Engineer

Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases (CE&IG) Korea is a subsidiary of Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Group) and is incorporated in South Korea. We are seeking an experienced Engineering manager to join our growing Nikkiso CE&IG Korea team.

Position Summary:

Installing, testing, and ensuring the safe operation of electrical components and systems, this position requires a blend of technical knowledge and practical skills. From wiring new constructions to upgrading electrical systems in renovations, the Construction Electrician ensures that all work complies with national and local electrical codes and standards. This profession demands a keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety, as electricians work to provide reliable and efficient electrical solutions that meet the needs of clients and the broader community.

Essential functions & Responsibilities:

  • Install electrical systems including wiring and lighting fixtures in new and existing construction projects.
  • Road and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate installation of electrical components.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure compatibility and safety of system components.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools in adherence to national and local electrical codes.
  • Install and maintain power generators and temporary power systems at construction sites to provide power for tools, lighting , and other electrical needs.
  • Perform trenching and conduit installation for underground electrical systems, ensuring proper depth and protection of wiring according to safety standards.
  • Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
  • Maintain daily log of activities on the jobsite.
  • Perform Supervisory duties at multiple jobsites simultaneously.
  • Issue notice of non-compliance to subcontractor in regards to quality of work or scheduling.
  • Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.

Requirements & Skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum 5 years working experience in O&G or Industrial Plants with good knowledge of construction process of electrical system.
  • Experience handing Engineering & Electrical vendors, contractors from construction & commissioning till completion and handover of projects.
  • Experience handling Regulatory agencies for electrical approvals and conformances.
  • Experience working with cross discipline teams for key interfaces and compliances.
  • Able to handle project electrical installation, testing & commissioning till handover to plant operation.
  • Profound technical decision-making skills with respect to electrical safety, operability, maintainability and economy of project construction and implementation.
  • Technical knowledge to read engineering documents like SLD, interface connection, equipment & cable tray layout, cable schedule, etc.
  • Able to handle multiple project concurrently.
  • Knowledge of electrical constructability.
  • Knowledge of electrical testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
