Summary

The Sales/Application Engineer is responsible for preparing quotations for all types of inquiries (budget to purchase phase) and ensure on-time submittal and responses. The Sales/Application Engineer is the primary contact for customers at the sales stage working in collaboration with the Sales Managers.

This position is based at Nikkiso ACD, LLC, located in Santa Ana, CA.

Essential Functions

• Prepare technical selection and scope of supply in line with customer’s technical requirements.
• Review project specifications and prepare deviations list, as well as attend and / or respond to technical clarifications requests from the customer.
• Prepare costs and quotation (price and delivery) based on the performed technical selections and technical clarifications.
• Work with other departments and suppliers to address any quotation specific requirements.
• Assist with AE tools development.
• Domestic and foreign travel to meet with customers.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.

Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of application engineering experience is necessary.
• Preference for 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Specific industry experience is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detailed and well-organized.
• Skilled in time management, prioritizing and managing changing priorities in fast-paced environment.
• Experience in rotating equipment / centrifugal pumps is preferred.
• Experience in bidding/proposal preparation and the ability to read and understand bid/proposal specifications, both from a technical and commercial perspective.
• MS Office proficiency
• Experience w/ 3D CAD software, SOLIDWORKS preferred.
• Experience w/ ERP system preferred.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Salary Range:

$70,000 - $90,000 annually
