Position Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategically minded Accountant to join our finance team at Nikkiso Cryogenic Industries Korea. The Accountant’s responsibilities include month-end closing, managing cash request, cash receipts and disbursements, daily journal entries for the company which is a manufacture site in Busan Korea, assisting with various tasks assigned by the controller, including intercompany AR and AP reconciliation and other general account reconciliations, maintaining fixed asset ledger and depreciation schedules, and assisting monthly percentage of completion analysis. In addition, assist with monthly product line reporting for the assigned entities after the month end closing cycle. As an Accountant, you will also be responsible for providing the controller timely reconciliations and accurate financial reports and costs analysis.

To be successful as an Accountant, you should be able to perform a variety of accounting and financial activities including month-end closing tasks, reporting, analysis, and internal control. You should also have strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of general accounting principles (GAAP) is required for a successful candidate in this position.

The Accountant will also assist with budgeting and forecasting preparation and standardize budget and forecast templates and any research and analysis required by the controller.

Essential Functions:

• Conduct the month-end closing tasks, it includes general ledger accounting and various reports, intercompany AR and AP reconciliation, balance sheet accounts reconciliation, monitoring the financial statements, preparing the adjustments if necessary.
• Monitor cash balance, manage cash receipts and disbursements, prepare bi-weekly transfer request and cash flow forecast, and prepare journal entries.
• Monitor and manage CAPEX, maintain the fixed assets and depreciation.
• Assist the quarterly forecast and annual budget, prepare various analysis assigned by controller.
• Assist the controller to collect the data and prepare the Percentage of Completion sales accounting on a regular basis.
• Assist the controller to review and find the root cause of unreconciled discrepancies on inventory, intercompany AR and AP, look for the solutions to resolve
• Assist with monthly financial reporting required by Nikkiso and various ad-hoc reporting requests.
• Other various tasks assigned by group controller if needed
• Performing research and analysis as required.
• Ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, company policies and JSOX internal control requirements.
• Utilize computer applications to compile, retrieve and summarize accounting information for analysis and reporting purpose.
• Documents processes and procedures

Work Environmental and Physical Demands:

• Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends, nights and/or holidays
• Job will generally be performed in an office environment but will require travel to other offices or production facilities. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply
• A valid driver’s license is required for travel between facility locations as required

Environmental Safety Requirements:

• New Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees, including Safety Awareness
• All safety related training is provided and tracked by the EHS Director
• Job specific training deemed necessary by employee’s Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basis

Employees are required to wear company provided PPE as/when needed. PPEs include, safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats & dust masks. Failure to comply with company safety requirements may result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.

Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is required
• Intermediate to advanced Excel is necessary
• Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment with 2+ years business experience in costing, financial planning & analysis.
• Accounting background and experience required, preferably with full cycle accounting
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills is required
• Working knowledge of financial strategies
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills required
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be accepted
• Experience with SOX internal control compliance preferred
• Knowledge of GAAP is preferred
• Exposure to international financial accounting and multi-currency reporting is highly desirable
• Exposure to various ERP systems is preferred; implementation experience is a definite plus
