Engineer – Engineering Planning

Location: Vadodara, Gujarat, India

Summary/Objective

The Project Engineering Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and tracking workflow from engineering to the stakeholder departments to keep the project running smoothly.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Planning and Scheduling of project Engineering Activities.
  • Well-versed with activities of various engineering streams like Process, Electrical, Design, and Instrumentation.
  • Resource mapping against planned activities and preparing a Look Ahead resource plan.
  • Utilization plan of Resources and Allotted Budget of project.
  • Monitoring of department KPIs like OTD (On Time Delivery), Productivity & Engineering Error.
  • Prepare and update the dashboard for department insights using various databases.
  • Follow-up with various stakeholders on assignment completion, task update, and availability planning.
  • Support business processes like Audit, Load planning, Periodic reviews, Budget planning, etc.

Competencies

  • Expert with software such as Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and MS Project.
  • Have worked with typical Engineering and Production environments.
  • Ability to work independently and make responsible and accountable decisions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Open to continuous change with the ability to learn new skills
  • Builds positive team spirit by developing constructive and cooperative working relationships and interdepartmental group commitments to effectively achieve production goals and objectives
  • Proficient in the effective use of MRP/ERP system
  • Ability to read an engineering drawing and bill of materials
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work independently with little supervision.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not manage employees.

Some travel may be required.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of previous experience as a planner in an engineering and manufacturing environment, is required.
  • Advanced working knowledge of project and production planning principles and their application.
