Subcontract Manager

Location: Busan, South Gyeongsang, Korea, Republic Of

Position Summary:

We are looking for experienced subcontract manager who has been working Marine, Energy Engineering and/ or related field to join our high growth South Korea team.

The role performs overall contract award review procedures and communication with SK and other Customers, co-working with relevant department like Sales, manufacturing and engineering.

Essential Functions:

  • Contract award review and communication with SK and other Customers.
  • Review and award contracts to shop contractors, E&I, Mechanical, others.
  • Review and award contracts to site installation contractors.
  • Review and award contracts to subcontractors and fabricators outside shop.
  • Support the Project Management team and General manager to raise change orders, variation orders, and claims.
  • Advise the General Manager of Product Company on commercial and contractual issues.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge and Critical Skill/Expertise:

  • Knowledge in local commercial law
  • Commercial contract review skills
  • Ability to structure contract award, interact with local lawyer for legal support.
  • Experience of managing various suppliers in the field of system, equipment, and facilities
  • Ability to negotiate contracts.
  • Able to work with all departments with professionalism; will work with colleagues at all levels in the company.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and presentation skills, using a proactive, respectful, and assertive approach.
  • Ability to multi-task, handling multiple high priority projects with accuracy while meeting required deadlines.
  • Communication skills (English written and verbal)
  • Personnel without difficulty in business trips is preferable.
  • Advanced Excel competency
  • Strong organization/research/Analystical skills
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Strong research skills
  • Analytical skills

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business industrial engineering, administration, jurisprudence, international trade, or related field is required.
  • Dual major in both engineering and administration (or jurisprudence, international trade)is preferred.
  • +10 years of procurement experience in manufacturing environment is required.
  • Previous management experience is required.
