Technical Sales Specialist III - Hydrogen

Technical Sales Specialist – Hydrogen Segment

Nikkiso ACD is an engineering and manufacturing company specializing in machinery designed to operate at cryogenic temperatures as low as – 420 degrees Fahrenheit, the boiling point of Liquid hydrogen. For over 50 years, Nikkiso ACD has specialized in centrifugal and reciprocating pumps as well as turbines for air separation. Nikkiso ACD has the most diversified product line in the industry covering nearly every application requiring pumps or turboexpanders.

This position is remote with direct reporting into Nikkiso ACD, Inc., located in Santa Ana, CA.

Position Summary:

Responsible for the development and performance of sales activities in assigned market (US) and specifically assigned customers. Works closely with Business Line Manager and Hydrogen Segment Manager to exceed customer expectations and deepen relationships. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for client.

  • Responsible for year-on-year bookings growth for Prime equipment aligned with the overall company strategy.
  • Assists Segment Manager to develop a business plan and sales strategy for key accounts that ensure attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
  • Develops relationships across a broad range of disciplines in target accounts to support account development and growth.
  • Ensures that all sales activity is accurately reflected in Sales force CRM system.
  • Responsible for presenting new product developments and business strategies to customer base within assigned market.
  • Attends trade shows to promote Nikkiso CEIG, network within the industry and develop new business / contact leads.
  • Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance and forecast through Sales force CRM
  • Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
  • Creates and conducts proposal presentations and RFP responses.
  • Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Delegates authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.
  • Sets examples in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
  • Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.

Education and Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in sales management.
  • Experience with enterprise software solutions and large, complex organizations.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship Management.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals.
  • Proven aptitude, willingness and ability to support sales teams.

Work Environment

Position is remote/WFH with travel to Nikkiso ACD on a regular basis. Travel expectations will be primarily Houston area with potential for 5-8 business days/month domestic travel. International travel subject to prior approval and performance in role.
