HR Generalist (Focus on Talent Acquisition, Onboarding & Offboarding)

Location: Neuenburg am Rhein, BW, Germany

Summary/Objective:

Reporting to HR Manager Europe, the HR Generalist will run the daily functions of the HR department including recruiting and hiring staff, administering new hire orientation, onboarding and offboarding procedures, staff administration, enforcing company policies and practices among other processes.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct the recruitment process for European hires, including sourcing, telephone screening, interviewing, schedule interviews with managers, behavioral assessment (Predictive Index), reference checks.
  • Conduct and assist in the preparation of offer letters and employment agreements, salary offer extension and contract negotiation.
  • Conduct new hire orientation, onboarding & offboarding processes.
  • Manage the required paperwork for new hires, offboarding, employee transfers, promotions, salary increases, and other related employment matters.
  • Manage the local internship program for new interns, including talent acquisition and connection with educational entities.
  • Assist and conduct in the creation and updating of Job descriptions.
  • Maintain accurate employee information in our absence management and time recording system.
  • Assist in the administration of employee programs, including benefits such as pension plan, Insurance travel policy among others.
  • Assist in the planning of team building activities and company events, including contacting suppliers, negotiation, etc.
  • Assist in the medical examinations planning process under local regulations.
  • Monitor compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist in developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and confidentiality standards.
  • Assists the performance review process.
  • Address employee concerns and grievances in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Prepare HR-related reports and analytics to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Analyze HR data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, supervisors and candidates, referring to different matters.
  • Supports other projects and tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years’ related experience in Germany is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and German.
  • Knowledge of German employment law & regulations, recruiting practices, and selection procedures.
  • Experience with HR systems including HRIS, applicant tracking, and recruiting tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
