CAD Designer II

Location: Vadodara, Gujarat, India

Summary/Objective

Preparation of creat drawings, checking, and release of the design document for further process.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D models and assembly drawings for skid systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME, API, and ANSI.
  • Create drawings from basic 2D up to complete 3D modeling required to complete a project; develop a layout of the system, components, and parts; draw multiple views of the system, components, and parts; depict the relationship of components and parts; identify dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances, and materials. This includes design verification and validation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, mechanical engineers, and project engineers, to gather requirements and ensure alignment in design.
  • Integrate equipment models, instrumentation, cable tray, instrument tubing, and piping components into the layout design using Autodesk Inventor software.
  • Optimize layouts to maximize efficiency, minimize footprint, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Participate in the review of plant, equipment, and structures as required.
  • Schedule and control own workflow to meet deadline commitments.
  • Cross-functional interaction/coordination to ensure product/equipment design meets the complete technical requirement.
  • Utilize Autodesk Inventor modules and, create 2D & 3D, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and other engineering deliverables required for plant systems.
  • Apply Autodesk Inventor functionalities such as clash detection, routing, and interference checking to identify and resolve design conflicts or issues.
  • Strong knowledge of P&IDs, equipment layouts, piping design principles, and instrumentation integration
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Design teams, assisting in problem-solving and addressing design challenges related to plant systems.
  • Define criteria and develop mechanical design: smart, aesthetic, simple, operational, functional, well organized, structured, clean, modern, and cost competitive.
  • Checkpoint by utilizing NCIPL checking procedures.
  • Be at the forefront of 3D plant design using the latest proven software and hardware technologies, bringing our clients the most modern NCIPL image possible, reducing costs, delivery time, and risk associated with lack of definition.
  • Work cooperatively with the Company administrative staff.
  • High proficiency in 3D software programs, preferably Autodesk Inventor, etc.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD mechanical and Autodesk Inventor
  • Proficiency In piping and support modeling in both 3D & 2D environments
  • Maintain appropriate records by filing drawings, project notes, and specifications using the local region's filing procedures.
  • Keep up to date on all new products, product changes, and general processing trends.
  • Prepare weekly timesheets and project reports.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet project deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Diploma / BE Mechanical
  • 5 to 8 years of Relevant experience in the design of chemical, and cryogenic Industries
  • Autodesk Mechanical,
  • Autodesk Inventor
  • SOLIDEDGE
  • Solid Work
