Application Engineering Manager

Location: Busan, South Gyeongsang, Korea, Republic Of

Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases (CE&IG) Korea is a subsidiary of Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Group) and incorporated in South Korea. We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer Manager to join our growing Nikkiso CE&IG Korea team.

This position is located in Seongnam-si Bundang-gu, Korea.

  1. Position Summary:

The Manager, Application Engineering manages a team of application engineers providing engineering-to-order equipment proposals based on customer specifications. This position is responsible for the implementation of procedures, review of proposals, and training of staff.

  1. Essential Functions:
  • Work with departments to ensure proposals submitted meet the Product Company requirements for delivery, documentation, testing and technical requirements.
  • Work with Sales Directors and other sales personnel to ensure customers are provided required information.
  • Communicate with customers to answer technical questions and respond to bid clarifications.
  • Ensure on-time performance of submission of proposals.
  • Provide support for marketing activities.
  • Perform quoting work as required.
  • Hire, lead, train and support application engineering team.
  • Work with the Global Director, Application Engineering to ensure that the processes and tools are implemented and updated per the Global Application Engineering procedures.
  • International and domestic travel to support customer meetings as required.
  1. Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:
  • English language proficiency is required.
  • Experience with customer relation management (CRM) software; SalesForce preferred.
  • Advanced MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to review proposals for compliance with technical specifications and pricing accuracy for engineered-to-order products.
  • Skilled in time management, prioritizing and managing changing priorities.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Develop talent and share knowledge.
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills.
  1. Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar software is preferred.
  • 5+ years’ progressively responsible leadership experience.
  • Specific industry experience is strongly preferred.
